Code of Conduct - Parents, Carers and Spectators

Play Your Part - Code Of Conduct

Parents and Carers (and other spectators)

A paper copy which we require you to sign is available from your coach.  These are handed out each year and you are requested to sign them.  Any spectators you bring along should also be made aware of this.

In order to create an atmosphere of support, safety and enjoyment at Oughtibridge War Memorial Junior Football club, we ask you to set the example to our juniors by following the Play Your Part – Code of Conduct.  This is in line with the FA’s Code of Respect.  We ask that you inform any other spectators that you bring with you to also adhere to this code.

I will:

  • Have fun; it’s what we’re all here for

  • Celebrate effort over outcome (our children are learning so much more than just how to win games!)

  • Cheer the effort and good play for both sides

  • Always respect the Referee and Coaches and encourage players to do the same

  • Stay behind the touchline and within the designated spectator area during games

  • When players make mistakes, offer encouragement to try again next time.  This is how they learn

  • Never engage in, or tolerate abusive language or behaviours

  • Become familiar with the safeguarding practices, welfare officer and other policies and procedures of the club

I understand that if I fail to follow the code of conduct I may:

  • Be issued with a verbal warning from a coach or club official or asked to leave

  • Be required to meet with the club committee, the league officials or County FA Welfare Officer

  • Be obliged to undertake an FA education course

  • Be requested not to attend any further games, be suspended for a fixed time or have my child’s membership removed

  • Be issued with a fine personally or have the club be issued with a fine

  • Have the club placed on yellow or red of the FA traffic light system which may include a club fine or club suspension from the league
