Play Your Part - Code Of Conduct

Players

A child-friendly paper copy is available from your coach.  These are handed out each year and you and your child are encouraged to read together to help them understand what is being asked of them.  A space is provided for your child to write or draw what they feel should be included in a code of conduct and you are asked to sign to show this has been done.

A code of conduct helps me to know the behaviours and attitude I should use at football.  I must try hard to follow these so we can all keep safe and have fun.  I will make mistakes because that is how we learn but I will play my part in helping my team follow the FA’s code of respect by;

  • Always trying my best and helping my team

  • Playing by the rules and respecting the referee

  • Shaking hands with the other team, if we win or lose

  • Listening carefully to what my coach tells me

  • Understanding that the coach has to do what is best for the team

  • Telling someone I trust if I am unhappy at the club

  • Encouraging my team mates

  • Respecting the equipment and using it safely

  • Remembering that my words and actions both on and off the football pitch should be friendly

If you do not follow the code of conduct then your coaches may;

  • Ask you to apologise

  • Speak to my parents or carers

  • Ask you to go home early from training or a match or have time out

  • Tell you not to take part in a matches or training
