Week 5 of the Northside darts League took the Bridge to the Wadsley Jack for a crucial clash to keep us climbing to the summit of the league.
Young Elliott led out the team to a hard fought 2-1 victory, Big Harry J's woes continued despite the influx of £400 pound's worth of new darts taking a 2-0 humbling to level up the game.
Then the 2 dependable stalwarts Bonk and Barx steadied the ship with 2-0 victories to put us out in front. The latter continuing his impressive 100% record this season in the singles.
Bert Jackson then put the hammer down with a 2-0 victory to extend the singles lead even further. Bert showing form of old lit up the eyes of skipper Carl, the delight was beaming from the silver fox for the rest of the evening. Adam was tasked with a huge ask to take on the Jacks Star player and did not disgrace himself, pushing him to the doubles in both legs.
We moved onto the doubles and it could only be described as an emphatic performance from all involved. Josh and Bonk nicked an edgy one in the 1st, while Martin and the Silver fox cruised to a victory in the 2nd securing the team's victory on the night. Harry and Elliott then mopped up the final doubles game to give the Bridge the clean sweep.
With the result in the bag on its way back to S35 the round the board began with Barx, Josh and Bert tasked to bring it home, obviously with it being a Tuesday night that's just what they did. Depsite a visit from Bruce Wayne during the match the lads held strong and a special mention to Bert Jackson who was on great form. He hit the crucial Double 14 which had proved a block for the threesome and he then took out the Bullseye to add the 3 points to the bag.
Big shout out to the Wadsley Jack B team who played a lot better than the 16-2 suggested, the spread for the lads was the best so far.
Onto the next.............
